Who I Am
I’m Md. Tusar Akon, a textile engineer, educator,
and developer, currently pursuing my master’s degree at
Colorado State University in the
Department of Design and Merchandising. Before this,
I taught in the Textile Engineering Department at BGMEA University of
Fashion & Technology (BUFT). I work at the intersection of
sustainable textiles, design,
data-driven learning, and
web-based tools that remove friction from studying
and research.
Over the last few years, I’ve shifted a lot of my energy into
building digital products that quietly sit in the background and
help students do the hard things: preparing for standardized tests,
managing references, and navigating dense academic content without
burning out.
GRElts & My Work in EdTech
I created GRElts.com, an all-in-one GRE preparation
platform that blends real exam-style questions, analytics, and a
game-like coin system so students can practice more consistently and
see exactly where they’re improving.
GRElts grew out of a simple idea: students don’t just need more
content; they need smarter systems that respect their time and
attention. The same thinking now guides my work on this APA
reference generator – less friction, more focus on real learning.
Why This APA Tool Exists
Academic writing is already demanding. Wrestling with formatting
rules, punctuation, hanging indents, and tiny APA details can make
it feel worse than it needs to be. I built this
APA 7th Reference Generator to offload that mental
overhead so students can spend more time reading, thinking, and
actually doing science.
Under the hood, this tool combines
manual structured input with
Semantic Scholar and Crossref
(behind a protected Cloudflare Worker) to fetch rich, verified
metadata while still letting you keep full control over the final
reference. The goal isn’t to replace your judgment; it’s to
amplify it.
How I Think About Knowledge & Science
My background is in textile engineering, especially
sustainable dyeing, conductive textiles, and process optimization.
That means I spend a lot of time thinking about how tiny details
add up to large-scale impact – in factories, in classrooms, and in
the tools we use every day.
I try to bring the same mindset here: build small, precise systems
that make other people’s work easier. Whether it’s a GRE dashboard,
a bus finder, or this APA site, the common thread is simple:
lower the barrier to doing good, careful work.
What I’m Hoping This Page Does for You
If you’re using this site, you’re probably juggling deadlines,
experiments, drafts, and feedback from supervisors or reviewers.
My hope is that this little tool:
- Removes the anxiety of “Is this citation actually correct?”
-
Teaches APA patterns implicitly, just by letting you see clean,
well-structured examples.
-
Gives you a sense that tech can be a partner in learning, not
just another thing shouting for attention.
Beyond APA: Projects I Care About
Outside of this site, I continue to experiment with tools like
GRElts, research on conductive textiles, and
digital products that bridge the gap between traditional disciplines
and modern AI-driven workflows.
If you’re curious about collaborations, research, or just want to
talk about study design, educational tools, or textile innovation,
I’m always happy to connect.
